Apple Cider Pork Chops & Grilled Apples

  • 1 1/5 pound of pork chops
  • Rub ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Glaze ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups apple cider
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red peppers
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Get all ingredients together and prepare the rub and the glaze while the grill preheats to a medium high heat.

Step 2

Light your grill and preheat it to medium high heat.

Step 3

In a saucepan, combine the ingredients listed for the glaze and simmer over low heat on a stove.

Step 4

While glaze simmers prepare the rub. Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly then add the olive oil. This will be a crumbly texture.

While meat is on grill cover brush the glaze on the top side and cook for 6 minutes. Then flip the chops and brush the glaze on the meat again. Turnover after 2 minutes and continue flipping and glazing every 2 minutes. Do this for a total of 10-12 minutes, pork temperature needs to reach 145 degrees. It is ok for it to still have pink.

If you cook apples with this, brush the glaze with halved apples with glaze, place on the grill and cook about 5 minutes. You don't need to flip these they will be done after 5-6 minutes.
